The Tamil Nadu Marriage Assistance Scheme aims to support the marriage expenses of young women from economically weaker sections. The Government of Tamil Nadu provides financial assistance and gold for “Thirumangalyam” (mangal sutra). This initiative promotes the education and empowerment of women across the state.

- The family’s annual income should not exceed ₹72,000.
- The marriage should be registered under the Hindu Marriage Act or Special Marriage Act.
- For higher benefits, the bride should have completed 10th/12th/degree/diploma education (depending on category).
